- INTRODUCTION
We thank God Almighty for the successful end of the third term 2024/2025 session. We appreciate the support and commitment of our parents, staff, students, the Management Board, the University Management, and all our benefactors.
Important information for parents:
- Marked scripts for Basic 7 & 8 and SS1 & SS2 have been returned to students today.
- The hard copy of the third term results will be given to parents and guardians on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, immediately after the P.T.A. meeting at 10 am in the school hall.
- ACADEMIC & NON-ACADEMIC HONOURS FOR STUDENTS
- I. As published earlier to parents, forty (40) of our SS3 Students scored above 301. Two (2) of them, Jimoh Abdulmalik and Robert Damiete scored 373, ranking 3rd position in the whole of Nigeria.
- TOP 16 BECE (NECO) PERFORMERS FOR 2025: The following Basic 9 (JS3) students listed below achieved the highest sixteen (16) best performances in the 2025 BECE (NECO):

III. HOSTING OF CAREER TALK BY THE DEPARTMENT OF METALLURGICAL & MATERIALS ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS: On May 7, 2025, the above-mentioned department held a career talk in the school’s Metal workshop for seventy (70) senior students, coordinated by Mr. Kolawole Olawale of Technology department.
- THE COMPSSA HOUSE OF LORDS QUIZ COMPETITION 2025: Adedeji Victor Osamagbe (SS2) and Odunlade Enoch Oluwademilade (SS2 Jade) participated in the above-mentioned competition at College of Medicine Hall, Idi-Araba, on 27 May 2025. The school secured first place. They were accompanied by Mr. Sulaimon D. (English Language department).
- LAGOS FIRST GENERATION HERITAGE COLLEGES ASSOCIATION (LAFGHECA) QUIZ COMPETITION 2025: Farayola Lateefah and Odofin Moyosore (both SS3 Jade) represented the school at the LAFGHECA Quiz Competition 2025, where the school secured first place. The students won cash award of N20,0000 only with certificates. The was school was also given a plaque.
- PARTICIPATION AT THE 6TH SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS ESSAY COMPETITION (SAAEC 2025): Maranatha, an SS2 student, was a finalist in the 6th South African Airways Essay Competition (SAAEC 2025) held on May 24th, 2025.
VII. PARTICIPATION AT PRUDENCE CITY COLLEGE MATHEMATICS CULTURE COMPETITION 2025: Prudence City College organized a Mathematics Culture Competition on April 30th and May 3rd, 2025. International School Lagos (ISL) was represented by six students from JSS 3 (Adeleye Oluwafikayomi, Soyingbe Abdul-Khaliq, and Olopade Maimmah) and SSS 3 (Adedeji Victor, Godson-Nwankwo Samuel, and Olusola Oluseyi). Following a written test, two junior and one senior ISL student advanced to the finals. While Olopade Maimmah and Godson-Nwankwo Samuel competed in the final oral and speed test, Adedeji Victor and Godson-Nwankwo Samuel secured first and second positions at the end of the competition. Both received certificates and cash prizes of N45,000 and N30,000 respectively. Their supervisor, Mr. C.S.O. Oyewole, was awarded N10,000 and construction materials for the school.
VIII. PARTICIPATION AT “UNILAG IN TOWN” STAGE PLAY
Twenty-two (22) of our students participated to watch a stage play tagged “Moremi Ajasoro” on Saturday 5th July, 2025, at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos. The students were accompanied by Mrs. B. O. Amodu (English Language department).
- GREENSELLA AFRICA’S PROJECT 10/10 CHALLENGE
Ehuwa Olaoluwa (Basic 8 Emerald) and other 8 students participated in this competition. ISL emerged 2nd position. Cash award of N70,000:00 only and a plaque were won at the award ceremony which held on 30th June, 2025. The students were mentored by Mr. A. J. Adesomo (French department) and Mrs. B. Y. Ogundele (Computer/ICT Dept.).
- HOSTING OF INAUGURAL ISL PUPIL’S WELLNESS DAY
This programme which focused on mental health of our pupils involved various activities, including seminar by Mrs. Ediri Ose-Ediale, Lead Psychotherapist, Recharge Life Center, CEO, Advertising Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) and other Facilitators. We had sponsors/partners who added value to the event, including “Three Crown”, “Peak Milk”, “Supreme Noddle”, “NewBisco Milky”, “CLI College”. The vision-er for the programme is the new Chairman of the International School Management Board (ISMB), Prof. Bolajoko N. Dixon-Ogbechi.
- XI. FOURSQUARE GOSPEL CHURCH (NATIONAL HEADQUATERS), YABA QUIZ COMPETITION IN COMMEMORATION OF 70TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHURCH: Ayantola Rebecca (SS2 Topaz), Samuel El-Shaddai (SS2 Topaz), and Maranatha Olubo (SS2 Silver) won first place for the school in the quiz competition on 19th July 2025. The school received a rechargeable public address system, while the students and their accompanying teachers, Mr. Ogunsanya and Ms. Osawe, were given gifts and cash awards
- SPORTS HONOURS
During the term, the school hosted and took part in several competitions both within and outside Lagos.
- CONFEDERATION OF AFRICAN ATHLETICS (CAA) UNDER 18/20 NATIONAL TRIALS JUNE 2025: The competition was held at Gateway Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State. Three of our athletes participated in the national trials. Jimoh Muhammed (SS3) secured third place in the under-18 boys’ high jump, while Mfon-Abasi Udoh (SS1 Silver) also achieved third place in the under-18 girls’ 800 meters. Deborah Makolo (SS2T) finished fifth in the under-18 girls’ 800 meters.
- AFRICAN SCHOOL GAMES, ALGERIA, 2025 JULY 26TH TO AUGUST 5, 2025: Jimoh Muhammed (SS3 Silver) is on Nigeria’s athletic team for the ongoing competition in Algeria.
- SCHOOL FEES FOR FIRST TERM, 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
Please pay first term fees through the student portal on the school’s website. Do not use the “sundry receipt” option for school fees payments, as it complicates account reconciliation especially when generating debtors list.
To pay school fees, visit http://portal.unilag.edu.ng/isl/. Use your ward’s admission number as the student number and the surname in lowercase as the password (unless changed). Please update your ward’s biodata before proceeding to payment. You can generate the pay advice or pay online directly. The First Term school fees for 2025/2026 will be available on the portal by the first week of August, 2025.
Students are to submit their online payment receipt to their class supervisor. Fees for next term must be paid on or before Monday, 15th September 2025. Students with outstanding fees will not be allowed into school from that date.
*PTA Levy of N10,000.00 per session must be paid to Zenith Bank Account No. 1228494811 only. Do not use the old Access Bank account. Students who do not pay the PTA levy for the 2024/2025 session will be unable to access their second term results.
- SCHOOL POLICY ON EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
Students are not permitted to enroll in external exams (e.g., G.C.E., WAEC, NECO) while still enrolled in the school. Violations will result in disciplinary action.
- DISCIPLINE IN THE SCHOOL
The school maintains a strict policy regarding student discipline. Individuals who violate school rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary measures as determined by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC). Any student found responsible for misconduct may face appropriate sanctions. In cases of examination malpractice, the student will receive a zero in the affected subject and will be suspended for two weeks. A repeat offense will result in the student being required to repeat the current academic year.
Students found bullying will be expelled from school. Bringing phones or other electronic devices will result in confiscation. Fighting on school grounds attracts a two-week suspension. Bringing explosive items (such as bangers) or other contraband to school will result in a one-week suspension. These are some of the disciplinary measures in place.
Students are expected to arrive at school before the daily assembly, which begins at 7:45 am. Parents should be aware that students who arrive late will face consequences as determined by the school. The school gate is closed to late comers at 8:30 am.
Students are advised to dress neatly to school in proper school uniform. Boys’ shoes – black lace-up leather shoes (with black shoelace, no attachment). Canvas shoes are NOT allowed. Low hair cut for boys (bushy hair, punk & fade hairstyles are NOT allowed). Girls’ shoes – black leather (no lace-up shoes). Neat hairdo is recommended for the girls weekly, with a minimum of 12 cornrows and a maximum of 25 rows (wool, rubber, and attachments are NOT allowed). Note that wrong shoes will be confiscated henceforth. Students are not to keep long fingernails. Students are to have requisite textbooks to aid learning.
- STAFF RETIREMENT
The following staff members retired during the term: Mrs. I. M. Affah – Principal Tutor (Fine Arts), retired on 30/05/2025; Mr. S. T. O. Ajao – Principal Tutor (Mathematics), will retire officially on 07/08/2025. We acknowledge their service to the institution and wish them a happy retirement.
- ISL ALUMNI, P.T.A. AND OTHER BENEFACTORS
We appreciate the following benefactors who supported the school during the term:
- Longe (a parent) who on termly basis has been giving us provisions for our Health Bay (School Clinic).
- The P.T.A. also continues to maintain our CCTV facility during the term.
- The ISL Alumni body, that is committed to various projects and engagements in the school.
- LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR ACTING PREFECTS AND OTHER STUDENTS
The annual leadership training for Acting Prefects and other students will hold at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Center, Sea School, Apapa, Lagos from 10th to 16th August 2025. The training is compulsory for all Acting Prefects for the 2025/2026 session. Registration closed on 11th July 2025.
- TRANSFER ADMISSION INTO BASIC 8 (JS2) AND SS1 FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
The school will commence sales of transfer application form into Basic 8 (JS2) and SS1 for 2025/2026 academic session, on Monday 28th July through Tuesday 2nd September 2025. The form is available at the office of the Administrative Officer (Records), 1st Floor, Administrative Building, ISL at the cost of N25,000:00 only (non-refundable).
