SECOND TERM 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION,
THURSDAY 2ND APRIL, 2026
- INTRODUCTION
We give glory to God Almighty for the successful end of the second term 2025/2026 academic session. We appreciate the support and commitment of our parents, staff, students, the Management Board, the University Management, and all our benefactors.
Important information for parents:
- Marked scripts for all classes have been returned to students today.
- The second term results for Basic 7 to SS2 will be released online to parents on Friday 10th April, 2026. SS3 students are still writing their mock examinations, their results will be released online at the beginning of next term. Parents will be notified on the parents’ PTA and the various class platforms as soon as the results are available online.
- ACADEMICS & NON-ACADEMIC HONOURS/EVENTS
- Lagos First Generation Heritage Colleges Association (LAFGHECA) & Spelling Bee & Essay writing (19/02/2026): The following students represented the school, they are: Amuni Temiloluwa Charles-Basic 9 Emerald; Esan Motunrayo- Basic 9 Emerald (Spelling bee); Sowunmi David- Basic 9 Crimson, Olubo Maranatha-SS3, Ayeni Olamide- SS2, Fetuga Ameerah -SS2 (Essay writing). The school came 1st and 2nd positions in the spelling bell, the result of the essay contest is being awaited. The prizes will be presented later.
(ii). 12th Winifred Awosika Foundation Annual Schools Challenge- (Quiz on 12/02/2026):
Godson-Nwankwo Samuel -SS3 and Akinwumi Heritage – SS3 represented the school and emerged 4th position overall. They won a rechargeable standing fan for the school.
- Nigerian Institution of Surveyors Essay Competition (on 21/01/2026): Godson-Nwankwo Samuel -SS3 also represented the school and came 3rd He won a cash award of N50,000 only.
- Lagos French competition organized by the United Foundation for Linguistic, Culture and Development (on 12/03/2026): We participated and emerged 3rd The team received cash award of N20,000:00 only.
- ICAN FAME competition and “catch them young”programme (03/03/2026) : The school participated in both events and emerged 2nd position in the competition. The students were given scholarship for Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS).
- ISL Mathematics Department Quiz Competition, in commemoration of the International pi day competition (on 13/03/2026). This competition involved the Junior Students in ISL. The winners include Adeleye Temidayo, Lamidi Favour and Adewunmi Providence (Basic7); Aderibigbe Emmanuel, Olowofela Olamide and Oloko Enoch (Basic 8) and Sowunmi Oluwafemi. Aham-Nkwoji Joy and Oyawaluja Oluwadarasimi (Basic9). The winners were rewarded with Mathematical set and token cash gifts.
- ISL Speech and Prize-giving day held successfully on 26/02/2026: It was a day to celebrate excellence among our students and staff alike.
- ISL Muslim Students Society Day held on Saturday 14th February, 2026.
- ISL Special Valentine event held on Monday 16th February, 2026.
Other events include:
- Real Estate Literacy event
- Interaction with the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency
- Sensitization and Health Awareness and Education on Pharmacy
- Sky Girls Activation
- Career talk by the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers etc
- SPORTS HONOURS
(i) ISL 35th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition (29/01/2026): This event held successfully in the school premises. Bursary House emerged the overall winner for the 2026 event, with 11 Gold medals, 11 Silver medals and 10 Bronze medals. Chancellery House emerged 2nd position with 8 Gold medals , 6 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. Senate House emerged 3rd position with 8 Gold medals and 5 Silver and 5 Bronze medals. Congregation House ranked 4th position with 5 Gold, 9 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals. In 5th position is Registry House with 5 Gold, 2 Silver and 9 Bronze. School House ranked 6th position with 4 Gold, 8 Silver and 9 Bronze medals. The most outstanding athlete of the event is Udoh Mfon-Abasi of Senate House. She won 5 gold medals in 200, 400, 1,500, 4×100, 4×400 meters.
(ii). The Athletics School Games, Yaba College of Technology (on 21/03/2026))
51 athletes from the school participated in above competition, 35 of them won various medals with the school emerging 3rd position overall. Ehuwa Obanla, SS3 was an outstanding athlete in the competition. He won two Gold medals and also set new school and competitions record of 1.95m in high jump boys (under 16).
(iii) Invitation School relay: The school’s athletic team participated in the invitation school relay in various schools, during the term. Some of the schools and the performances of our boys and girls are as follows: – Bishop Howells Grammar School- 1st and 3rd positions for our girls and boys respectively; Straitage Schools– 1st positions for our boys and girls; Kings College, Lagos-1st position (ISL boys); Princeton Schools– 1st and 2nd positions for our girls and boys; Jewels & Pearls Schools-1st positions for our boys and girls etc.
(iv) Akofa Ivy League Basketball Championship: The following students represented the school: Nwadogu David, Oyebola Iseoluwa, Folorunso David, Ambali Fuad, LawalFareed, Ojo Tofunmi, Abgeyo Mobolaji, Ekejuiba Francis, Ewuha Obanla and Olukayode Zain. They won bronze medal and a trophy.
(v) Coming event: MTN CHAMPS-15th to 18th April, 2026, Ibadan, Oyo State: 18 students of the school will participate at this competition.
- COMPULSORY EXTENSION CLASSES FOR SS3 AND BASIC 9 STUDENTS
I wish to inform our dear parents that there will be compulsory extension classes for all SS3 and Basic 9 students from Monday 13th to Wednesday 22nd April, 2026 (8 school days). This will afford us the opportunity to review the mock examination questions, as we prepare for the external examinations that will commence by the end of April, 2026.
- SCHOOL FEES FOR THIRD TERM, 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
To pay school fees, visit http://portal.unilag.edu.ng/isl/. Use your ward’s admission number as the student number and the surname in lowercase as the password (unless changed). Please update your ward’s biodata before proceeding to payment. You can generate the pay advice or pay online directly. For further inquiries and assistance on payment of school fees, please contact Mr. O. O. Adigun on 08034271121 (What-sap only).
Students are to submit their online payment receipt to their class supervisor. Fees for next term must be paid on or before Monday, 27th April, 2026. Students with outstanding fees will not be allowed into school from that date.
*PTA Levy of N10,000.00 per session must be paid to Zenith Bank Account No. 1228494811 only. Do not use the old Access Bank account. Students who are still owing the PTA levy for the 2025/2026 session will be unable to access their second term results.
- SCHOOL POLICY ON EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
Students are not permitted to enroll in external exams (e.g., G.C.E., WAEC, NECO) while still enrolled as a student in the school. Violations will result in disciplinary action.
- DISCIPLINE IN THE SCHOOL
The school maintains a strict policy regarding student discipline. Individuals who violate school rules and regulations will be subjected to disciplinary measures as determined by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC). Any student found responsible for misconduct will face appropriate sanctions. In cases of examination malpractice, the student will be scored zero in the affected subject and will be suspended from school for two weeks. A repeat offense will result in the student being required to repeat the current academic year. A third offender will be advised to withdraw from the school.
Students found bullying will be suspended from school. Bringing phones or other electronic devices will result in confiscation of the item. Fighting on school grounds also attracts suspension. Bringing explosive items (such as bangers) or other contraband to school will result in a one-week suspension. These are some of the disciplinary measures in place.
Students are expected to arrive at school before the daily assembly, which begins at 7:45 am. Parents should be aware that students who arrive late will face consequences as determined by the school. The school gate is closed to late comers at 8:30 am.
Students are advised to dress neatly to school in proper school uniform. Boys’ shoes – black lace-up leather shoes (with black shoelace, no attachment). Canvas shoes are NOT allowed. Only low hair cut for boys (bushy hair, punk & fade hairstyles are NOT allowed). Girls’ shoes – black leather (no lace-up shoes). Neat hairdo is recommended for the girls weekly, with a minimum of 12 cornrows and a maximum of 25 rows (wool, rubber, and attachments are NOT allowed). Note that wrong shoes will be confiscated henceforth. Students are not to keep long fingernails. Students are to have requisite textbooks to aid learning.
- ISL ALUMNI, P.T.A. AND OTHER BENEFACTORS
We appreciate the following benefactors who supported the school during the term:
- The P.T.A. continues to maintain our CCTV facility during the term. The PTA also supported the school for the Inter-house sports competition, as well as the speech and prize-giving event.
- The ISL Alumni body is still committed to various projects and engagements in the sch We look forward to refurbishment of our Senior School toilets facilities. We also looking forward to assistance to help us fix the Agricultural Science Laboratory, among other projects in the school.
I.EXCURSIONS
- The school organized an excursion to Larfarge Cement Plant at Ewekoro, Ogun State on Wednesday 18th February, 2026, with 26 students and 3 members of staff (2 Teachers and Driver) accompanying them. A second batch of students (already registered) for the excursion is scheduled to hold at a later date in 3rd
- The school is scheduled to visit Lagos State House of Assembly in the new term. Some students of SS1 & SS2 are already registered for this excursion.
- The school is also planning an excursion to Benin Republic from 16th to 25th August, 2026. Interested Students should register with Mr. O. A. Koleowo (08023190691 or 08036680196) Mr. A. J. Adesomo (08066681095), Mrs. R. F. Omogunwa (08131260314) or Mrs. C. Q. Isaiah (08167556845) of French department, ISL.
- There is a planned excursion also to France in August, 2026. Interested Students should register with the above mentioned teachers of French department, ISL.
- J. CONDOLENCE
We commiserate with the following families, on the passing into glory of their beloved ones during the term:
- Late Barrister Adeoye Adeyemi, father of Adeyemi Mololuwa, SS3 Topaz.
- Late Mr. Gbadegesin Gbede, father of Gbede Aishat, SS3 Topaz and Gbede Ridwan, SS2 Emerald.
- Late Mrs. Ezinne Enikanologbon, she was a Sanitation Worker, employed by the PTA, ISL.
- K. ADMISSION INTO BASIC 7 (JS1) AND TRANSFER INTO BASIC 8 & SS1 FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The school is continuing with sales of online application form for entrance into Basic 7 (JS1) for 2026/2027 academic session, at the cost of N25,000:00 only (non-refundable). The entrance examination will take place on Thursday 23rd of April, 2026. The school will also commence sales of transfer application form into Basic 8 and SS1 in July, 2026.
