SECOND TERM 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION,

- INTRODUCTION
We thank God Almighty for bringing us to a successful end of second term 2024/2025 session. We appreciate our distinguished parents, staff, and students for your support, cooperation, and commitment throughout the term. We are also grateful for the support of the Management Board, the University Management, and our benefactors.
Parents are to please note the following important information as the term ends formally today:
- Marked scripts have been returned today, to students of Basic 7 to SS2 in an envelope, by their class teachers.
- The second term results would be available online for viewing by parents of Basic 7&8 as well as parents of SS1&2 from Friday 11th April, 2025, while parents of Basic 9 and SS3 would be able to view their results from Monday 28th April, 2025. Parents should please log in to http://islportal.com.ng The username is âstudent admission numberâ, while password is âpasswordâ (if it has not been changed by student or parent). Please note that: school fees debtors, including P.T.A. defaulters, WILL NOT be able to view their results; the result portal is not the same as the portal for payment of school fees. The link for payment of school fees is http://portal.unilag.edu.ng/isl/
- Hard copies of the results will be given to students when we resume for third
- HONOURS FOR OUR STUDENTS-ACADEMIC & NON-ACADEMIC
* Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Lagos state branch, essay competition, January, 2025: Adedayo Faith Abimbola of SS3 came first position. She won cash award of  N70,000:00 only, a plaque and certificate.
* Institute of African and Diaspora Studies, University of Lagos, essay competition, February, 2025:  Nejo Oluwatomisin Ayodeji (SS3) came first position and he was  also given N70,000 cash award, a plaque and certificate.
* The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) 73rd Anniversary Debate Competition, March, 2025 (ISL emerged 2nd position), with plaque and gift items.
* DJBABUS Foundation Talent Hunt Competition, 2025.
The following students represented the school in the competition. They are: AdĂ©yáșčmĂ Mololuwa (SS2, Saxophonist), LĂ mĂdĂŹ Tomiwa (SS2, Clarinet), AdĂ©nĂyĂŹ DĂ©milĂĄdĂ© (SS2, Drummer), ĂjĂ yĂ Success (SS1, Saxophonist) and á»má»ÌtĂĄdĂ© Tana (SS1, Poet). The school came second position and was given cash award of  N40,000. The competition was held on Wednesday, 12th March, 2025, at the Bellina College, Akoka.
* ISL Young Economics Scholars hosted other schools in Lagos in March, 2025 (ISL came first in the quiz competition).
* ISL Literary and Debating Society also hosted during the term, a debate competition and came second position.
* ISL Mathematics department organized inter-class competition for Junior School on Friday 14th March, 2025 in commemoration of International Pi day. Prizes were won by various classes in the Junior school.
* Hosting of Career Talk in  Science for SS2 female students: The school hosted a career talk organized by some female Lecturers from the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, Department of Pharmacognosy and Department of Zoology, University of Lagos. This talk which held on 19th February, 2025 is in commemoration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
* Participation at the 2025 Chinese Spring Event.
The school participated at the 2025 Chinese Spring event which took place at Tayo Aderinoye Hall, University of Lagos, on Tuesday, 25th, February, 2025. It was quite exciting for the students.
* The annual speech and prize-giving ceremony was held successfully on Thursday 27th February, 2025 in the school hall. It was an opportunity to celebrate excellence for both students and staff who received awards.
* Prefects Investiture took place successfully on 22nd January, 2025.
* The Eq2homes Pomodoro Reading Challenge 2025: The following students emerged top performers in the pomodoro challenge for mentoring, effective time-management, focus and productivity: They are: (I) Lamidi Grace (ii) David Adesanya and (iii) Humphrey David.
- SPORTS HONOURS
The school hosted and participated in various competitions within and outside Lagos during the term:
* ISL 34th Annual Inter-house sports competition: The competition was held successfully in the school on Thursday 30th January, 2025.  The summary of the performance by the various houses are as follows:

- Akofa Ivy Basketball League: The school took part and qualified for quarterfinals.
- Lagos State District IV schools Athletics Competition: This held on 5th of March, We won 10 Gold medals, 4 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.
- Mtn champs session 3 held in Benin, Edo State:Held from 5th to 8th March, Jimoh Muhammed SS3, won two (2) Gold medals in Long Jump and high jump.
- The Athletics School Games 2025 held at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos: The school came second position overall with total of 25 gold medals, 13 silver and 15 bronze.
- Invitation School Relay: The schoolâs athletic team (boys and girls) participated in several invitation school relays this term and won gold medals. This includes inter-house sports competition organized by the following schools in Lagos: Atlantic Hall; Dowen Schools; Longford School; Kings College and British International School.

- SCHOOL FEES FOR THIRD TERM, 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION
Please use the student portal on the schoolâs website to pay third term fees. Only use the Student Portal for school fees payments. Do not use the âsundry receiptâ payment option on the schoolâs website to pay school fees please. It makes account reconciliation difficult, especially when generating debtorsâ list.
The link for payment of school fees is http://portal.unilag.edu.ng/isl/Â Â Student number is âadmission numberâ while password is âlowercase of studentâs surnameâ(if it has not been changed by the parent or student) Kindly use this link for payment of school fees, to login to the upgraded ISL payment portal. Parents are advised to update the biodata form before proceeding to payment tab. You can then easily generate the pay advice or go ahead to pay online. Third term school fees have been uploaded. Parents should note that the fees will not come up unless you generate the fees on the portal.
Please note that a copy of the online receipt of payment should be submitted to the class supervisor.
You are advised to ensure that fees for next term are paid before resumption of school. That is, on or before 28th April 2025. Kindly note that debtors shall not be allowed into the school from Monday 28th April, 2025. The Management Board has directed the school to operate the policy of âNo payment of school fees, no resumptionâ.
*PTA Levy of N10,000.00 per session is to be paid into Zenith Bank Account No. 1228494811. You are advised not to pay PTA Levy to the former Access bank account.
PTA levy defaulters for 2024/2025 session will not have access to their second term results.
- EXTENSION CLASSES LEVY FOR SS3 AND JS3 STUDENTS FOR 2024/2025 SESSION
Parents of SS3 and JS3 students should note that the final extension classes (to review Mock Examinations questions) would hold for both JSS3 and the SS3 students from Monday 14th to Wednesday 23rd April, 2025. It is compulsory for all JS3 and SS3 students to participate.
Kindly note that extension levy of N10,000:00 only is to be paid by all SS3 and JS3 students (payment is through sundry receipt platform on the schoolâs website, and NOT the students portal) Please note also that all JS3 Students are to pay additional N2,000:00 only for Aptitude test (for class placement into SS1), making a total of N12,000:00 only for JS3 Students. Evidence of payment or online receipt for extension classes aptitude tests should be presented to the class supervisors, Mr. O. A. Adejumo (for SS3) and Mr. A. O. Toye (for JS3) on or before Monday 14th April, 2025.
- SCHOOL POLICY ON EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
No student is permitted to enroll for any external examinations, particularly G.C.E. (WAEC or NECO, etc.,) while still a student in the school. Any student who is caught writing such examinations will face disciplinary measures from the school.
- DISCIPLINE IN THE SCHOOL
The school has zero tolerance for indiscipline. Students who disobey school rules and regulations will face disciplinary action from the school. Any student found guilty by the studentsâ disciplinary committee (SDC) will be punished. Students who get involved in examination malpractices will score zero in the subject and go for a two-week suspension. A second offender will also repeat the present class.
Bullying attracts expulsion from the school; bringing of phones and other electrical gadgets to school will attract confiscation of such items; fighting in school attracts two weeks suspension; bringing of explosive items (banger) or other contraband to school attracts one week suspension; just to mention a few.
Students are to get to school early enough to be part of the daily school assembly, which starts at 7.45 am. Parents should note that latecomers will be punished by the school. Kindly note that the school gate is locked against latecomers at 8.30AM.
Students are advised to dress neatly to school in proper school uniform. Boysâ shoes – black lace-up leather shoes (with black shoelace, no attachment). Canvas shoes are NOT allowed. Low hair cut for boys (bushy hair, punk & fade hairstyles are NOT allowed). Girls’ shoes – black leather (no lace-up shoes). Neat hairdo is recommended for the girls weekly, with a minimum of 12 cornrows and a maximum of 25 rows (wool, rubber, and attachments are NOT allowed). Note that wrong shoes will be confiscated henceforth. Students are not to keep long fingernails. Students are to have requisite textbooks to aid learning.
- RETIREMENT OF STAFF
The following staff retired in the course of the term. They are:
- Mrs Fajoye – Secretary to the Vice-Principal (Administration) on 23/02/2025.
- Mr O. Akinyele – Principal Tutor (Geography) on 25/03/2025.
We wish they a happy retirement.
- CONDOLENCE
With a heavy heart, we announce the call to glory of the following parent during the term:
Mrs. Olanipekun, mother of Favour Olanipekun of Basic 7 Platinum.
We pray the good Lord will comfort the immediate family she left behind.
- ISL ALUMNI, P.T.A. AND OTHER BENEFACTORS
We appreciate the following benefactors who supported the school during the term:
- The 1998 ISL alumni Association donated a cash gift of N54,000:00 each to 52 Tutors during the term, majority of whom taught them while they were in the school.
- The P.T.A. also donated and supported the school for a successfully inter-house sports competition as well as the annual speech and prize-giving ceremony which held during the term.

- LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR ACTING PREFECTS AND OTHER STUDENTS
The annual leadership training for Acting Prefects and other students will hold at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Center, Sea School, Apapa, Lagos from 10th to 16th August, 2025. The training is compulsory for all Acting Prefects for the 2025/2026 session. The training is also open to class captains, assistants class captains and other students from all classes. Registration fee is Sixty Thousand Naira only (N60,000:00), to be paid into the schoolâs account (using sundry receipt, not students portal) on or before Monday 30th June, 2025. Evidence of payment must be submitted to the office of the Vice-Principal, Administration, latest on 30th June, 2025.
