THIRD TERM 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION,

A. INTRODUCTION

We are grateful to God Almighty for the successful end of the third term 2025/2026 academic session. We appreciate the support and commitment of our parents, staff, students, the Management Board, the University Management, and all our benefactors.

Important information for parents:

• Marked scripts for all classes have been returned to students today.

• The hard copy of the annual results of students will be given to parents during the PTA General meeting that is scheduled to hold on Saturday 8^th August, 2026 at 10am.

2. ACADEMICS & NON-ACADEMIC HONOURS/EVENTS

1. 33 of our SS3 students scored between 356 and 290 in UTME/JAMB conducted in April, 2026, with Adedeji Victor Osamagbe (the outgoing head boy) scoring 356.

2. In the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) recently released, Esan Motunrayo Deborah had all-As (11) in the examination.

3. Our students emerged 1^st and 2^nd positions in Spelling bee and 1^st position in Essay Writing competition organized by Lagos First Generation Heritage Colleges Association (LAFGHECA).

4. We took part in TINE Africa AI & Technology Competition and emerged 4^th position. The students developed an Application that could detect fake drugs and won N250,000:00 only cash award.

5. We also emerged 1^st position in French debate competition organized by the French Education Unit, Department of Art Education in June 2026. They won a plaque for the school.

6. The school emerged 1^st and 2^nd positions in “I create Club” Inter-School Competition also in the month of June. The students won N200,00:00 cash award and bedding.

7. Adewumi Heritage SS3 Emerald won N50,000:00 cash award for emerging second position at the ICAN FAME competition and “catch them young” programme.

8. We had clubs and Society meetings every Wednesday.

9. We had the 2.0 edition of ISL Pupil’s Wellness Day on Tuesday 9^th June, 2026, with Mr. & Mrs. Allen & Ediri Ose-Ediale of Recharge Life Center, Lagos as Guest Speakers.

10. The School Choir took part at Dr. & Mrs. D. K. Olukoya Musical Competition and emerged 2^nd position out of about 100 Secondary Schools in Lagos that took part. The team won N1.5 million Naira grant for the school. One of our boys Humphrey David (SS2) also won a tuition free scholarship for University education in any public University.

Other events include:

• Banquet of Esther 2026, for girls and female members of staff.

• Wavecrest College of Hospitality, Lagos, Open Day Seminar.

• The Odushu Foundation Empowerment programme tagged “The Boy Child Blueprint”

• Sky Girls club sessions for six week.

• Menstrual Hygiene Awareness 2.0 by the College of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences (COMPSSA), University of Lagos.

• Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes by students from the Faculty of Management Sciences, Universioty of Lagos.

• Library Awareness and Information Literacy Outreach programme by the National Library and Information Science Students, University of Lagos chapter.

• The Junior Achievement, Nigeria (JAN) organized a Financial Literacy Programme with our students, in conjunction with First Bank Nigeria Plc during the term.

2. SPORTS HONOURS

The Athletic team of the school participated at the MTN Champs which was held in Ibadan, Oyo State in April, 2026 and emerged 3^rd position. The team won One Million Naira only grant for the school.

ISL CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE (AFTERNOON-OUT WITH OUR VICE-CHANCELLOR)

We had the privilege of hosting our amiable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, FAS, OON at the ISL Celebration of Excellence event which took place on Tuesday 7^th July, 2026. It was a day to celebrate excellence in Academics, Sports, Music etc among students. Staff and former ISL Board members were also celebrated at the event.

ISL SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAMME (ISL HANDS-ON)

The ISL Skills Acquisition Programme (otherwise known as ISL Hands-on), organized essentially for basic 9 students after their BECE Examinations, was held between Monday 11^th May and Wednesday 22^ndJuly, 2026. It featured skill acquisition training in Computer/ICT, Robotics, Fashion Design, Catering, Baking, Hair Dressing, Tie & Dye, Musical Instruments, French Language and Physical Fitness etc. The students were awarded certificates at the closing ceremony/exhibition that took place on Wednesday 22^nd July, 2026, with their parents in attendance.

5. SCHOOL FEES FOR FIRST TERM, 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

To pay school fees, kindly visit http://portal.unilag.edu.ng/isl/. Use your ward’s admission number as the student number and the surname in lowercase as the password (unless changed). Please update your ward’s biodata before proceeding to payment. You can generate pay advice to be taken to bank or pay online directly. For further inquiries and assistance on payment of school fees, please contact Mr. O. O. Adigun on 08034271121 (What-sap only). PARENTS ARE ADVISED NOT TO PAY SCHOOL FEES DIRECTLY TO THE SCHOOL’S COMMERCIAL BANK ACCOUNT, BUT PAY THROUGH THE STUDENT’S PAYMENT PORTAL.

Students are to submit their online payment receipt to their class supervisor. Fees for next term must be paid on or before Monday, 14^th September, 2026. Students with outstanding fees will not be placed into the next class.

*PTA Levy of N10,000.00 per session must be paid to Zenith Bank Account No. 1228494811 only. Do not use the old Access Bank account for PTA. Students who are still owing the PTA levy for the 2025/2026 session or previous sessions will be unable to access their annual results.

F. SCHOOL POLICY ON EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS

Students are not permitted to enroll in external exams (e.g., G.C.E., WAEC, NECO) while still enrolled as a student in the school. Violations will result in disciplinary action.

G. DISCIPLINE IN THE SCHOOL

The school maintains a strict policy regarding student discipline. Students who violate school rules and regulations will be subjected to disciplinary measures as determined by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC). Any student found responsible for misconduct will face appropriate sanctions. In cases of examination malpractice, the student will be scored zero in the affected subject and will be suspended from school for two weeks. A repeat offense will result in the student being required to repeat the current academic year. A third offender will be advised to withdraw from the school.

Students found bullying will be suspended from school. Bringing phones or other electronic devices will result in confiscation of the item. Fighting on school grounds also attracts suspension from school. Bringing explosive items (such as bangers) or other contraband to school will result in a one-week suspension.

Students are expected to arrive at school before the daily assembly, which begins at 7:45 am. Parents should be aware that students who arrive late will face consequences as determined by the school. The school gate is closed to late comers at 8:30 am.

Students are advised to dress neatly to school in proper school uniform. Boys’ shoes – black lace-up leather shoes (with black shoelace, no attachment). Canvas shoes are NOT allowed. Only low hair cut for boys (bushy hair, punk & fade hairstyles are NOT allowed). Girls’ shoes – black leather (no lace-up shoes). Neat hairdo is recommended for the girls weekly, with a minimum of 12 cornrows and a maximum of 25 rows (wool, rubber, and attachments are NOT allowed). Note that wrong shoes will be confiscated henceforth. Students are not to keep long fingernails. Students are to have requisite textbooks to aid learning.

H. DONATIONS

We appreciate the following benefactors who supported the school during the term:

• The Academic Publishing Centre, University of Lagos donated 57 Units of Students furniture.

• The department of European Languages and Integration Studies, University of Lagos also donated to the school, 25 copies of a novel titled “The Act” by Ekundayo Simpson.

• Prof Victor Benjie Owhotu donated to the school also 10 copies of “UNESCO at 75 and Beyond…..”

• The P.T.A. continues to maintain our CCTV facility during the term. The PTA also continued to support us with Sanitation officers (Cleaners).

• The ISL Alumni body is still committed to various projects and engagements in the school and we are grateful for this. Mr. Ayobayo Babade (2006 set) recently donated to the school, 120 copies of his book titled “Dear Teacher: A Long Letter of Appreciation”. Mr. Bayo Lambo (1997 set) also recently wrote to the school, promising to donate a Strength Training Center (Gym). We look forward to the delivery of this project and other upcoming projects by the Alumni body.

I.EXCURSIONS

1. 55 of our students visited the Lagos State House of Assembly on excursion on Tuesday 9^th June, 2026.

2. We are yet to secure the appointment for our students who are supposed to go for the second batch of Geographical excursion to Larfarge Cement Plant at Ewekoro. We hope to go for this excursion in the new term. We apologize for this delay.

3. The school will also be going on excursion to Benin Republic from 16^th to 25^th August, 2026. For inquiries, please contact any of the following teachers of French Language: Mrs. R. F. Omogunwa (08131260314), Mr. A. J. Adesomo (08066681095), or Mrs. C. Q. Isaiah (08167556845).

4. There is a plan to go on excursion to France in April, 2027. Interested Students should register with the above-mentioned teachers of French department, ISL.

ISL VACATION SCHOOL (EXCEL QUEST)

The school will be having Vacation School (Excel Quest) from Monday 10^th August through 2^nd September, 2026. It will involve Academics, Skills Acquisition, Sports & Games, Campus tour as well as Cinema visit (optional). Registration fee is One Hundred Thousand Naira only (N100,000:00), payable to the school’s account number 1960069219 (Ecobank) or 1100087135 (Unilag Microfinance Bank). It is open to ISL and non-ISL students. Kindly register at the office of the Vice-Principal, Academics.

J. CONDOLENCE

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing unto glory of our beloved Vice-Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association of the school, Dr. Noruwa Ikponwosa Abu. He died in the early hours of Sunday 26^th July, 2026. He was the father of Noruwa Emmanuel of SS1 Diamond.

K. TRANSFER ADMISSION INTO BASIC 8 & SS1 FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The school has commenced sales of transfer application form into Basic 8 and SS1 on Tuesday 28^th July, 2026 till Wednesday 2^nd September, 2026. The transfer examination will hold on Thursday 3^rd September, 2026 at 9am. For more information on the applications, please visit the school’s website or the school’s parents WhatsApp platforms.
